MISSION UPDATE

During the months of October, November, December, January and February I served in the Bishop's Storehouse, Cannery, Family History Center and the Temple. I managed to referee a few Ice Hockey games in the evenings or Saturdays. It was great to be on the ice. The week before Christmas my family took a trip to Salt Lake City to see the temple lights. I took them to see my friends at the Family and Church History Headquarters Mission. President Peterson shook my hand and looked me in the eyes. He invited me to return to the mission. My parents were ready to leave me there, but I was unsure. During the month of January I went to the Boise Temple and was able to perform the Baptisms for my grandma's ancestors I had found through Family History Research. My grandma encouraged me to return to Salt Lake to continue the work I had started. I went to the temple fasting and praying to know what I should do. The answer I received was very clear. I called President Peterson that day and told him I was ready to return. A week later they called and asked me to arrive March 1 to continue my service in the Family and Church History Headquarters Mission. I was so excited but also very scared. The next couple weeks were very hard as temptations kept me wondering if I could really do this.  I know I can! ~ ELDER FARNSWORTH
